02 Drive

Tangential drive.

Two iFlight 2207 1800 kV outrunners, re-soldered to wye. The KV drops to about 1040, so there is more torque per amp (higher Kt) and lower motor currents.

Each motor shaft presses on the rim of its wheel. Measured from the CAD, that is a 10.5 : 1 reduction.

03 Weapon

One fight per ratchet.

A single TPU reverse-ratchet wheel on the motor presses against a smooth VytaFlex 60 wheel bolted to the weapon, which turns on a dead shaft.

The TPU wheel lasts a single fight, which works well: spin-ups are fast, and the motor slips on hits. That isolates it and avoids current peaks, so the electronics survive longer and the battery can be undersized.

04 Structure

Light and durable.

A sandwich of 2 mm carbon fibre, pressed onto aluminium standoffs.

The standoffs are pressed inside the TPU unibody. That gives armour that resists hits while staying rigid.

The standoffs, and the bolts through them, keep the sandwich firmly fixed.
